The organizers of ECTP 2014 are pleased to announce the Social Program/Events:

 

 

Conference Meals

The buffet meal will be served outdoors in the faculty garden.

Menu: Soup, salads, sandwiches, fruits and sweet deserts.

White and Red Wine, refrigerants, beers, orange juice, water and coffee.

 

 

Coffee Breaks 

The coffee breaks will be served at the Hall of the conference Auditorium and Rooms.

 

 

Welcome Reception – 31st Aug. 2014 – 17h:00 – 20h:00

The ECTP2014 Reception and Registration will take place in the Chemistry and Biochemistry department of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto.

 

 

Ice-Breaking Party – 1st Sep. 2014 – 17h:30 – 19h:00

The Ice-Breaking party will be in faculty gardens (green square) in the first day of the conference. 

 

 

City Tour – 2nd Sep.2014 – 17h:30 – 20h:00

Bus Tour to the downtown and the historic city center of Porto. The itinerary includes sightseeing of the Douro Riverside and Atlantic Coast (Foz), the route to Vila Nova de Gaia across the D. Luis I bridge, passing along the Porto wine cellars, the visit to a typical fishing village (Afurada), and the view of the sunset on the Atlantic coast (Lavadores). The tour will end at the location of the Conference Dinner at Taylor´s Cellars.

 

 

Conference Dinner – 2nd Sep. 2014 – 20h:00 – 23h:00

The conference dinner will take place at Barão Fladgate Restaurant in “Caves Taylor”, and includes a visit to the Taylors´s Porto Wine Cellars.

 

 

Visit to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry – 3rd Sep. 2014 – 14h:30 – 15h:30

Visit to the R&D laboratories of Physical Chemistry group at the Faculty of Science of the University of Porto. Registration is required due to limited number of visitors that are programmed.

 

 

Porto by Night Visit – 3rd Sep. 2014 – 20h:00 – 23h:00

Porto downtown offers a great variety of restaurants and bars. Some Porto by Night “tours” will be organized and guide by the conference Staff (Students). Registration at the Conference Secretariat is required.

 

 

Farewell Party – 4th Sep. 2014 – 13h:00 – 16h:00

All the participants of the ECTP2014 are invited to a Farewell party with traditional Portuguese food and drinks.

 

 

Accompanying Persons Tour – 3rd Sep. 2014 – 14h:30 – 18h:30

Half a day visit to Guimarães and Braga. Guimarães, European Capital of Culture in 2012 and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 2011, where you can visit the Castle of Guimarães, Birthplace of the Nation, and the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança. Braga, where you can stroll through countless gardens, visit the countless churches and palaces which fill this city of history.
